10/26/18 MMA Legislative Breakfasts
Municipal officials and state legislators are invited to these free meetings, which offer an informal opportunity to talk with area legislators, fellow municipal officials and MMA staff about key legislative initiatives and important issues facing communities. The formal legislative session has ended for 2017-18, but the MMA is looking ahead to the start of the next session in January. Topics at the breakfast meetings will likely include state elections, economic development and housing, municipal recycling initiatives, and funding for the Chapter 90 local road program. City and town officials from every community are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to talk about local successes and challenges and to give input on the MMA’s legislative priorities for the next two years. A continental breakfast will be provided by the MMA at 8 a.m. Introductions will begin at 8:15, followed by presentations and Q&A. The meetings will end by 10 a.m. Attendees are asked to contact their legislators and invite them to attend as well. While meetings are free to attend, members are asked to pre-register.
