March 29, 2019 MMA Legislative Breakfasts
Twice a year, the MMA hosts a series of meetings in communities across the state to give local leaders, legislators and MMA staff the opportunity to network, exchange information and discuss issues of importance in state and local government in an informal setting. The 2019-2020 legislative session has begun, and the MMA is busy keeping track of the thousands of bills already filed with the Legislature. Relevant bills will be discussed, along with topics such as the governor’s fiscal 2020 state budget and education finance proposal, economic development and housing, municipal recycling initiatives, and recreational marijuana. City and town officials from every community are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to talk about local successes and challenges and to give input on the MMA’s legislative priorities for the next two years. While meetings are free to attend, members are asked to pre-register.
