MMMA October 2022 Monthly Meeting

The MMMA will focus on public safety at its October 20 meeting at Olde Scotland Links Golf Club in Bridgewater.

Topics will include: Amherst’s new Community Responder for Equity Safety and Service (CRESS) program, the latest guidance on Active Shooter Hostile Event Response (ASHER) training, and an overview of the fairly new Mobile Integrated Health Care (MIH) program.

East Bridgewater Sergeant Michael McLaughlin will provide an overview of ASHER.

Amherst Town Manager Paul Bockelman will join Amherst CRESS Director Earl Miller to discuss the CRESS program which is designed to provide safety services in situations that don’t involve violence or serious crime.

Hanover Fire Chief Jason Cavallaro will discuss his department’s 2020 launch of MIH services. MIH is a system of pre- and post-hospital services that utilizes mobile resources, including EMS Personnel, community paramedics, and other providers to deliver a coordinated continuum of care that supports patients’ needs in the community.

The meeting will conclude with a legislative update from MMA Executive Director Geoff Beckwith. Lunch will follow.

The cost is $40 for all attendees.
