MMMA Spring Conference, 2022 Gloucester

The MMMA Annual Spring Conference will be held June 2-3 at the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester.

The agenda will kick off with a program titled Municipal Leadership: Where Do We Go From Here? It was designed for our membership, focusing on recognizing what was experienced over the past two years, increasing understanding and awareness of the professional and personal impact, and reviewing strategies and best practices for successfully moving forward.

The afternoon will feature a member-led session on achieving work-life balance and how to keep innovation and passion at the center of your work.

Friday’s program will include:

•labor law and contract updates with Attorney D.M. Moschos
•MMA update with Executive Director Geoff Beckwith
•ICMA member reports

Thursday evening will be a casual, relaxing dinner directly on the water at the Gloucester House Restaurant, which is in walking distance from the hotel. The space is an open-air, fully covered area with lots of room to catch up with friends over appetizers and then enjoy a buffet dinner.

You may register your personal guest for the dinner.

Hotel Rooms:

The Beauport Hotel has sold out of rooms. There are two hotels nearby with availability June 1-3.

Ocean House Hotel at Bass Rocks is a 10 minute drive from Beauport and features updated rooms with ocean views. https://www.oceanhousegloucester.com/

Cape Ann Marina Hotel is a 4 minute drive from Beauport and sits on the Annisquam River, in a working marina. https://capeannmarina.com/

The program deadline is May 23 and the cancellation deadline is May 27, 2022.

The U.S. CDC recently designated half of the counties in Massachusetts as “high risk” for the transmission of COVID-19. In order to protect our members and staff and ensure that everyone feels comfortable attending our in-person meetings, the MMA will be providing on-site testing for all attendees, who must test negative to participate. Due to this testing protocol, masks will not be required. On the day of the event, attendees of in-person meetings also must show proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID (card, photo or QR code). (Religious or medical vaccine exemptions are allowed with a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours.)

Personal guests attending the dinner must also show proof of vaccine and take a rapid COVID test on site.
