MMMA Women Leading Government Leadership Conference

Women Leading Government will hold its first Leadership Conference on February 27, 2020, at the Courtyard Marriott in Marlborough. WLG is an initiative of the Massachusetts Municipal Management Association whose mission is to encourage and support women working in all levels of local government to pursue positions in management. The day-long event will feature a welcome from Lt. Governor Karyn Polito (invited), followed by a keynote address by Laurie Leshin, president of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Leshin is the first female president at WPI and has over 20 years of experience in academia and science, including working at NASA. Breakout session topics include: personal safety, personal finance, mindfulness, advancing while raising a family, serving on the front line of management, and transitioning into management positions. Speakers will include local government officials as well as academic and private sector leaders. If you’d like an updated head shot, a photographer will be available at the meeting to take photos of all attendees. Scheduling details will be made available before the meeting. The day will conclude with a networking reception, so be sure to bring your business cards!  The cost of the meeting is $50 for all attendees. The cancellation deadline for this event is February 19, 2020.
